Sunflower Belt by Marie Segares

This week's free pattern will help you remember the brightness of summer as we transition into fall.  The Sunflower Belt by Marie Segares in Galler Yarns Parisian Cotton is a quick crochet project that can easily be customized.

Each motif uses a small amount of Parisian Cotton in Chocolate (for the center) and Mimosa (for the petals).

The braided belt can be made using either color.

About the designer: In addition to blogging for Galler Yarns, Marie Segares is Proprietress of Underground Crafter.  She teaches crochet and knitting, designs patterns, and blogs about her creative adventures.  She can be found online at her website and blog, and on Facebook, Pinterest, and Ravelry (as MarieInNYC, in the Underground Crafter group, and on her designer page).

Inca Eco Striped Vest Pattern by Monarch Knitting and Quilts

Today's free pattern is the Inca Eco Striped Vest (for children) in Galler Yarns Inca Eco by the folks at Monarch Knitting and Quilts in Pacific Grove, California.

We first saw pictures of this cute, stripey knit in this post during the Inca Eco Blog Tour, and we're delighted that Monarch Knitting and Quilts is sharing this pattern with us.

This is a great project for a knitter new to garments or knitting in the round because Inca Eco's thick and thin texture is very forgiving of... inconsistencies in your knitting :).
